2023 Yamaha MT-07 new upgraded TFT display with connectivity

Yamaha's popular naked bike gets an upgrade for 2023 with a new color TFT display with standard Bluetooth connectivity.

For almost nine years the medium model of the Hyper Naked series, i.e. the representatives of the dark side of Japan, has emerged as a permanent best seller achieving over 160,000 sales to date.

For 2023 Yamaha keeps the mechanical base of the bike unchanged, does not add anything to its basic peripherals (suspension, brakes) and does not even change the available colors, which remain the same as 2022: Cyan Storm (cyan), Icon Blue ( blue) and Tech Black (black).

What changes in the next year's model is its instruments, where comes a new screen, color TFT with a diagonal of 5 inches, which can be set to two display options.

The Street Theme relies on a modern look with a bar-shaped tachometer at the top and a digital speedometer display, while the Touring Theme favors a more traditional round tachometer on the right of the screen with the speedometer on the left.

To control the new screen and the features it offers, Yamaha uses a new switch pack on the steering wheel – which, however, is not shown in the photos it has released.

Connectivity to the rider's phone via Bluetooth is standard on the new MT-07 and is achieved with Yamaha's free MyRide app, which can display information about incoming calls, messages and emails on the screen.

In addition, the system can inform the rider of any technical problem with his motorcycle and transmit this information to whoever has been designated as a contact by the motorcycle owner.

The MyRide app can also provide other useful services such as route recording, storage of motorcycle parameters such as distance traveled, acceleration, maximum speed, maximum lean angle and others, and also share via social media.

In the new MT-07, Yamaha has taken care to pre-install the necessary wiring for a quickshifter, greatly facilitating its subsequent installation, if the owner decides to acquire it from the Yamaha Genuine Accessories collection.
