QJ Motor presented its new 550 cc twin-cylinder motorcycle in China and soon we will see it in Euro 5 form.
The name of the Chinese QJ Motor, a member of the giant Geely Group, we know in Greece more because it is the parent company of Benelli, and not so much from the motorcycles it sells with its own logos.
However, this is about to change soon, as QJ (Qian Jiang) Motor had announced last year at EICMA that it would expand to Europe in 2022 and its word was kept to the letter. It will be here from the Spring, the Chinese said last year, and because of his word, their first representative office opened in Germany last April.
Since then, they have set up a European central website and hopefully five operational representative offices in Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal and France, while the expansion in Greece has already been formalized , but the corporate structure that will take it on has not yet been announced.
In the meantime, several QJ Motor motorcycles are already available in the top five European markets, and everything indicates that the upcoming EICMA 2022 will see more new Euro-spec models.
One of them, as the German magazine Motorrad informs us , will be the SRV 550 ST cruiser, which is equipped with the 554 cc two-cylinder in-line engine that is prefaced as the successor to the 500 engine that we know well in Greece from the similar Benelli ( TRK, Leoncino).
Its performance is not expected to change in terms of maximum horsepower, which will remain at the A2's cap of 47 hp, but we will understandably have a different performance profile and probably boosted torque.
The SRV550 ST is based on the package of the already existing SRV550 roadster (see it on the Spanish website ) and its logic is obvious: to appeal to the audience of the Honda Rebel 500. It is the evolution of the existing SRV500, which uses our well-known engine of 500 cc, it is the second cruiser in QJ Motor's range after the SRV300 - which is an obvious Harley-Davidson Sportster clone.
In its technical data we see an expectedly traditional set with 17-inch wheels, but also a small originality in the use of a belt for the final transmission.
According to the German colleagues and their information, QJ Motor will have brought the new SRV550 ST to Europe by Spring 2023, at a price that will not exceed €7,000.
At the moment the bike has not been listed on any website, neither the main one of QJ Motor (China) nor the European ones, so we still don't have enough technical specifications for the SRV550 ST, only a series of photos shared by QJ Motor on her Facebook page.
