It was introduced last year exclusively for track use and this year it gets a facelift with a more powerful engine, upgraded suspension and other goodies for a lucky few.
In the Summer of 2021, KTM revealed a very special bike, its own take on the Supersport question, if you will. The KTM RC 8C , based on the twin-cylinder LC8c engine of the 890 Duke R, had emerged in collaboration with the German Krämer Motorcycles and its racing special GP2 890 R.
The 100 pieces that KTM announced last year were sold out within 4 minutes of opening the relevant online order form, despite the rather salty price that in Greece was around €35,000. After this success it was probably expected that KTM would return to the issue, and it did.

For 2023 the Austrian company announces the return of the RC 8C, renewed and more powerful.
It starts with the engine, which went through the operating table to get new lighter titanium connecting rods and valves, new pistons with two rings to seal the combustion chamber, higher compression ratio, larger injection bodies, reinforced fuel pump, new timing on the clutch springs, a new PANKL oil cooler and a reset anti-vibration shaft.
These internally, because externally the engine has been strengthened with a new Akrapovic titanium exhaust, which contributes to keeping the weight low, which without liquids is announced at 142 kg.
With all the changes the new RC 8C delivers seven more horsepower than before, 135 hp at 11,000 rpm, with torque peaking at 10 kgm at 8,250 rpm.

The WP APEX PRO suspensions front and rear have new settings, slightly softer to offer more predictability and confidence, while its electronics package is kept as it was, with plenty of systems to bring the performance to measure by influencing parameters such as ignition mapping, throttle response, engine braking and traction control.
The customization possibilities of the motorcycle also extend to its geometry, as it is possible to adjust the caster angle and the offset (offset), while the parameterization reaches the Brembo Stylema brake calipers with the adjustable RCS19 Corsa Corta pump.

The instrument panel is equipped with a GPS data-logger (telemetry recorder), controlled by switches on the steering wheel, while the Quickshifter+, set to work with an inverted racing gearbox, is also standard equipment.
Finally the appearance has been renewed, as we have new aerodynamic wings developed by the MotoGP team and for 2023 the bike will be available in black, as opposed to the orange of the previous model.

Given the success of last year's batch of 100 pieces that disappeared in the blink of an eye, this year the 2023 model will be produced in 200 pieces for the whole world and the first 30 will get a great gift: on April 26, 2023 at the Circuito Ricardo Tormo in Valencia of Spain will be welcomed by ex-Grand Prix riders (no names announced at this time) as well as a full team of KTM and WP Suspension technicians to help them find the ideal set-up for a day at the track.
KTM tells us that the only thing each of the 30 lucky ones who will enjoy its gift has to do is to ride their motorcycle to Mattighofen and from there all the costs of transport (Austria-Spain and back), accommodation and food they are undertaken by the company itself.
